"The Cry of UKRAINE: Clash of Titans", a digital artwork by Alessandro Butera, is much more than just an image: it is a visual cry, a heartbreaking representation of the conflict tearing Ukraine apart. A work that does not merely show the war, but makes you feel it, penetrating the viewer's soul.

The scene is dominated by two imposing gorillas, incarnations of opposing geopolitical forces. The first, wrapped in the symbols of the United States of America – bandana, protectors, even a stars and stripes loincloth – represents the West and its involvement in the conflict. The second, clutching a flag that merges Soviet iconography with the colors of modern Russia, and with the inscription "USSR" tattooed on his arm, evokes the ghost of a past empire, but whose shadow looms menacingly over the present.

These modern titans face each other in a duel that is both physical and symbolic. They are not contesting a map, as in other representations: they stand on it. Ukraine, here reduced to a battlefield, is literally trampled, its name – "UKRAINE" – written in large letters, almost a stifled cry, an identity crushed under the weight of the clash. The red stains that dot it are harbingers of blood, of pain, of shattered lives.

The background of ruined cities, flames and black smoke is the frame of this tragedy. It is not just a scenic element, but the tangible symbol of the devastating consequences of war: destruction, death, despair. A warning against the folly of violence and hatred.

"The Cry of UKRAINE: Clash of Titans" is a work that shakes, that moves, that makes you reflect. It is an accusation against indifference, an invitation to face the reality of war and not to forget its human cost. It is a work of art that speaks to the heart, a work of art that must be seen, understood, shared.
